Last night I Cant Steal You became I Cant Steal You, Benny... And Im glad it did, so much fun and grateful to the whole gang in THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM for having me, and beyond honored and moved that they learned a song of mine thats so dear to me. It was a last minute thing that happened, and Im moved it did. Those guys mean the world to me, as a listener and a fellow artist. We didnt rehearse this together, so it starts a little beautifully uncertain but builds towards something with grins because of their sturdiness as a great rock n roll band... Just a beautiful night. Against Me and Cory Branan were fantastic. The Against Me set fired me up like a gigantic and distorted fist of resilience. And finally, Ive got to say, and believe me when I say this, Im not buttering them up, theres something about that Gaslight audience, a warmth. I dont know where it starts or emanates from, them or from Gaslight, and Im not sure it matters. All that matters is that it exists. Its just so cool to see, so cool...
