Last night, I drove past the parking lot where I went into labor with Cara, nearly 9 years ago. It reminded me of how scared and excited I was to be somebodys mom. That basically sums up how I still feel about being a mom. Most days I try to be excited about it, but essentially, parenting is frightening. Here, take care of these young, delicate, but surprisingly resilient and adaptable little humans. They have a mind of their own but they will try to be like you in many ways, so dont screw up. Also, go ahead and screw up, because they learn from that too. Also, they will always love AND resent you, even if you have the right balance of screwing up and not screwing up. You basically cant do anything for the rest of your life without affecting the lives of these little humans. Good luck!
