Last night I had a dream. We were in a small seafaring ship and then realized we needed a much larger ship to make the journey. As we were about to board the larger ship I saw a huge two bladed tool that looked like an old hand held can opener. It held two sharp blades. The two men holding the bladed too seemed menacing and up to no good. Then I heard the words TAR AND PITCH. The basket Moses was placed in was tar and pitched to keep the basket from taking on water. Noahs boat was also tarred and pitched. Ocean-going ships of old had a seam that went from bow to stern down the middle bottom of the boat. This seam was called the DEVIL. In order to seal the seem it was necessary to get into the very bottom of the boat to tar and pitch the seam. Thus was a very tedious and undesirable job. Yet necessary and crucial if you wanted to make a safe journey and reach your destination. It was necessary to seal the devil both inside and out. If one space was missed, you could wind up with a ship full of water and end up at the bottom of the sea. A tedious, laborious, but most necessary task. Soon our ship will sail. Our vessel. Each of us responsible for our own ship being made ready for the journey. Is your devil sealed. Do you have tar and pitch? If you know Jesus you do for he sends his Holy Spirit to you. His SEAL. His mark of passage. Get busy. Now. Its almost time to embark. Check your vessel for leaks and seal each with His Spirit and you will surely stay high and dry until you reach his shore. A safe journey from here to eternity. Sealed by love.
