Last night I had the cutest patient! A WWII vet! As I was doing all of his admission paperwork and assessment, he said someone promised him a McDonalds hamburger. I laughed and told him I had a turkey sandwich. I check his orders and notice hes on a regular diet. So I get him a sandwich, juice, crackers,and milk. After he ate, I came back and gave him his pain meds and changed his gown, cleaned him up, made sure he was comfortable! He told me thats the nicest hes been treated all year! It made me sad!
