Last night I posted a little thing about Paul Shaffer. Heres a video that demonstrates the kind of thing I was talking about. https://youtube/watch?v=zk4-8vAxJNo As a sidebar, I cant imagine anyone credibly referring to themselves as a musician who cant deeply appreciate this song and what it represents to the history of music. I dont care of youre rock or pop or EDM or country or hip hop or whatever, this track is a keystone that supports everything that has come since, up to the present day. There are huge swaths of not just rock but country, soul, and modern R&B that simply would never have existed if not for this track. Phil Spector is, by all accounts, a world-class jerk and a damned lunatic besides, but he was also a genius who changed the world in a profound and positive way through his songwriting and production. No matter what else he might be, youve got to give him his due for that.
