Last night, I spent 6 hours in the ER at Vancouver General Hospital, getting an emergency CT scan. As I waited (thinking this part of our city needs a second hospital, due to massive patient load), I was absolutely fascinated by the women working there. Watching these brilliant, driven, powerful women, doing so much in so little time, with authority, confidence and strength was utterly magnificent. Yeah, there were males there, and they were working hard, too, but they were out numbered by about 3-1. The experience made me think (once again) that many times, men should just STFU and get out of the way. In my small way, doing burlesque, I hope I am doing that, and providing a launch pad for spectacular humans.
