Last night I successfully remembered a sequence of 100 random - TopicsExpress

Last night I successfully remembered a sequence of 100 random numbers. Its an interesting concept and one that really gets to the heart of learning and understanding how your brain works. Its also surprisingly easy and fun to learn. Using the same methods and ideas you can memorise a deck of cards, Pi to however many digits you want... or perhaps more usefully you can remember everything you want to in school, you can remember a shopping list or to do list instantly, and wherever you left your keys. In effect there are lessons that traditional school isnt teaching. Partly because pretty much the entire world is still using an education system that was made to turn kids into factory workers: ted/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity# So... were planning a school environment that isnt so traditional, that isnt so strict, authoritarian, and learn by rote. A school where you first learn to love learning, and learn how to learn. Not only will it boost capacity, how much a child can and will learn, but it will be fun, dynamic, and teach important critical thinking. Theres a long way to go before that dream is realised, but the potential is there, and the potential is huge.
