Last night I was awakened from a deep sleep by a woman screaming...a horrific scream, more real than I have ever heard in any movie. It was filled with pain, fear...she needed help. I jumped out of bed, grabbed my knife and bolted to the door...my friend who was crashing at my place on the sofa was up as well, his knife in his hands....he could hear the woman too...as I approached the door, with my friend at my heels, the screams got louder...almost as if the woman was on the other side of the door! I reached for the door handle...shaking...scared of what Id find on the other side. I paused for a second or two...scenarios running through my head, then I turned the door knob and pulled the door open, heart pounding, adrenaline running.... The screaming stopped immediately as the door swung opened...it was dead silent...we stood there outside on the breezeway looking around...ready to fight anything that came our way. My attitude quickly changed to fear, the silence was deafening...we went back inside. Sat there for a bit on the sofa. Neither one of us spoke...I got up and went back to my room...I grabbed my phone to see what time it was...the phone said 3:00am...the witching hour...the peak timing for all evil things... At that moment I was probably more scared than I have ever been...then it hit me...while we were out on the breezeway we left the front door open the whole time...what if whatever that was screaming came in?.... At this time Im sure you now know I didnt sleep at all...and still am pretty shaken...I cant get her screaming out of my head...Ive never heard a scream like that...
