Last night I was kinda feeling sorry for myself. It never fails. We had a BEAUTIFUL morning at the BJCC for EWTN Family Celebration, with Mass celebrated by Bishop Baker. After Mass one of those horrible migraines set in...it crept and it crept and then by the time we made it home, I dont even remember coming in the house, plopping on the sofa with a cold rag on my head and sleeping until 4pm. When I awoke, my washing machine was making a funny noise (as my car is as well)...I went to let the cat in from the garage to find water all over the floor from where the AC has leaked all onto costumes, fabric and a rug that now smells like mildew...As I know you are so bored by the sorted facts of my life, there is a point. After being filled up by God, the test began. Can you keep that peace, Dava? Even when the storm blows in? Are you TRULY faithful? Well, the best I could do last night was close the doors to the trouble, cook dinner and then diffuse my oils as I felt a little blood boiling on the inside. I think I did yell out at someone in the house (my poor husband...he always gets it) from frustration. LET ME JUST TELL YOU...ITS HARD! EVERY DAY! FOR ALL OF US! Those little STUPID THINGS, that control us. Its the life we lead, but we have to let GOD shine through no matter what! The essence of the Christian life is total abandonment to Gods will. The first and greatest commandment is to love God with all our hearts, all our souls, all our strength, and all our minds (Lk 10:27). (OBOB) We must love God through all of our troubles and struggles. All of these things around us will stress us out, but they DO NOT MATTER... There’s an old saying, “You can’t take it with you.” This is because, in fact, we own nothing. Everything we have, right down the numbered hairs on our heads, are gifts from God. As long as we lay claim of ownership to anything in our lives, we can never follow Jesus in totality. Jesus knows how hard it is to detach from our lives. He had to do the same after living thirty years in Nazareth with His family. He also knows what will make us everything we could ever hope to be. He only asks that we leave everything in His capable hands. So today, I give ALL THAT I HAVE TO HIM. He will take on my stress and give me what I need. “Jesus, you are my greatest treasure. You are my most valuable possession. Help me to lay my life before you. Give me the grace to follow you and put you first each day.” (CM.COM)
