Last night I was making a recipe that called for scalded milk, not something you commonly hear of in todays times. I was making a traditional egg custard pie for a friend and used old fashioned ingredients. That started me thinking about traditions. With the trend now that newer is better, we can forget that the old ways still have value. That traditions are important. When you look at it there are many traditions that are still important; worshiping with others, family gatherings, listening to your elders, showing respect to others. We may have found new ways of doing these things but the traditions still hold true. Tonight think about what traditions are important to you. And which ones you might have been letting slide as you get caught up in the newer is better whirlwind. Be thankful for the traditions and memories that were instilled in you and try to pass those on to the next generation.
