Last night I was out later than I intended. Wandering around town I ran into so many great people whose company I enjoy that I didnt make it home until late. Thats fine, I figured, Ill have plenty of time to sleep in tomorrow morning. Theres nothing going on this weekend, right? That, of course, is where I was wrong. Aside from a serious bout of Equality Kickball this afternoon, and the continuing efforts of the TUFF Farm Stand and the 25th anniversary of the Reel Pride Film Festival, there are a couple of big events taking place today. Starting at 9 am are the Fresno Highland Games and Gathering taking place out at Kearney Park. Celebrate your Scottish heritage, while enjoying traditional food and ale, dancing and entertainment! Starting at 2 pm is Peeves 1st Year Festival, LOVE A LOCAL:, a two day festival celebrating local music, art and food, in honor of Peeves Public Houses 1 year anniversary. Gazebo Gardens Nursery hosts a beer garden and food truck extravaganza every Friday and Saturday, though today will also see a meeting of the Fresno Beard & Moustache Club at 6:30 pm. As if that werent enough, tonight is the last performance of the Woodward Shakespeare Festivals run of The Tempest at 8pm out at Woodward Park, Fresno. Not to mention the myriad musical performances, poker tournaments, and private events taking place all over the city. I think Im going to need a cup of two of strong black tea with breakfast - theres always something to do here in the city, and I want to be awake to see it all. Dont just take my word for it, though - get out today and find everything Fresno has to offer!
