Last night I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dying 2 on Netflix. I started watching for one reason, yet the more I watched, it ended up with a completely different affect on me, sort of in sync with my post yesterday morning. As someone who had been plagued with obesity in my life and still struggles with bingeing and overeating at different times, I am always interested in different ways to look at and live with this. Have you watched this Christina Long Prince ? IF you have not, I would be interested in your take at least from the 29th minute to the 45th minute. It would be so interesting to incorporate some of this teaching and learning into school somehow, wouldnt it? What was interesting, was a lot of focus on whole foods and just early in the day I was delighted to share lunch with my aunt, Linda Etheredge, my mom and sister, I had had them laughing because I said one of the popular happenings today is the talk and following of “whole food”, like it is a new thing, yet my mother has ALWAYS lived by standard. She was eating and raised on whole foods, which many were during an era where simply because of the Depression and economics you had no choice. If you didnt raise it, you didnt eat it. She is closed to 80 and never succumbed to process foods which really have only been introduced to humanity in the past 60 years and truly is the most epidemic reason for obesity and disease. I have high regards to the Whole Food stores who have, because of their growth began opening stores in low income areas with what I would call low overhead, low “fluff” stores to provide reasonably priced whole foods to everyone. This raised a bigger question, why do we need the high end stores? Stores with expense décor and major overhead? I don’t need or desire that but would desire reasonable priced whole and organic foods. WOW… what novel ideas, everyone could afford and incorporate whole foods into their daily routine and what if more doctors were focused on preventative method instead of prescription??? I guess, I still have a naïve perspective on this? https://youtube/watch?v=UDeTKomY4P8
