Last night I watched a good program of end of President Kennedys life. If was worth staying up for til 3 am. the first part killing Kennedy was ok, but I watched that second part because it the real Jack and Jackie in it. He liked Jackie with him cause she doubled the crowds, she was so beautiful. It showed his trip to Fort Worth in detail and all the people he and Jackie met and shook hands with along the way. The last speech he made. The crowds of people along the street. Many were interviewed were young people when it happened as was I. I remember him coming through East Louis when I worked the newspaper. They turned the corner on Mo. Ave. to go the Stock Yards. I got close. He shook many hands, one fellow I worked with shook his hand gave his rank and serial #, he said I always wondered what happened to you guys. They served in South Pacific together. President Kennedy was campaigning for president. It was 1960. He was the first president I voted for......It rained that morning in Texas. Then the sun came out when they reached Dallas, they put the bubble top down. History was changed forever then....I remember standing by the AP to see if he would live or die. They were holding up the Front page. we always went to press at 1:30, there wasnt a dry in the paper that day. We went to press with front page that said PRESIDENT KENNEDY MURDERED IN DALLAS.
