Last night I went to a MAAM meeting. Paul E Sundquist gave a very wonderful presentation on what all is involved in a guitar "set-up". His detailed demonstration explained what a guitar technician evaluates in order to decide what necessary adjustments, if any, are needed. He gave an overview of the proper tools needed and how they are used to measure, adjust, and service the instrument for regular maintenance. Is good for musicians to understand what kind of tedious work and level of intuition is involved in creating the harmonious balance one seeks while playing their guitar. I am glad I went to support my friend and watch his presentation. Tonight, if Heather is feeling good enough, we are going to get out for a walk and to support our local music happening at the Bandshell.
