Last night, Kristi and I had the good fortune (and good sense, - TopicsExpress

Last night, Kristi and I had the good fortune (and good sense, actually) to go to Colorado Springs and hear Ian Tyson at Scott OMalleys Western Jubilee Warehouse. His voice is back, and the performance was great, once again. Ian had had to have surgery to repair his vocal cords. Anyway, we had a chance to visit with him afterwards, and he was eager to tell me that he will have a new album out next spring, and one of the songs he will include is Colorado Horses, written and recorded by a very talented local singer, Will Dudley. Early this year, I sent Tyson a copy of Dudleys recent album and suggested Colorado Horses might be a song that fit Tysons repertoire. I feel like Ive been awarded two ears and a tail in the Madrid bull ring for sending Ian something he actually liked. Ian already had a loose tie with Dudley because, back in the early 90s, he was one of four artists (the others were Charley Daniels, Fletcher Jowers, and Becky Hobbs) who appeared in a long, story-like video that Dudley produced to launch the cowboy music phase of his own career. Tysons segment was filmed right here in La Veta and on the nearby Roberts Ranch, and he performed Eighteen Inches of Rain for the video. The video was called COWBOYS AND DREAMERS. Anyway, fun times!
