Last night, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation was honored to attend the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity Convention in Washington DC to speak about the B+ Heroes Program and the incredible bond formed between the ZBT brothers at New York University and B+ Hero Christian. This touching video was shared: bit.ly/ChristianZBT In August 2013, 8-year-old Christian Velez-Guzman was losing hope after battling childhood cancer for 5 years. In September 2013, we had the honor and privilege of pairing B+ Hero Christian with the ZBT Gamma Chapter at NYU, through the B+ Heroes Program. This relationship was an incredible turning point in Christians life. The ZBT brothers gave Christian the opportunity to be a part of their brotherhood and Christian gave his new brothers the opportunity to look at life a little differently. Christians Mom, Luisa, says that after being adopted by ZBT, he was happy again. He looked forward to waking up every day...He wanted to spend all his time with his brothers. In November 2013, at NYDM - New York Universitys dance marathon benefitting B+, Christians ZBT brothers extended a bid to Christian. Less than two weeks later, Christians condition took a turn for the worse and his ZBT brothers never left his side. Sadly, Christian passed away, but he was on of their own, so his ZBT brothers stayed with him through his last breath. Please set aside some time today to watch this touching video, created by The Zeta Beta Tau Foundation and shown at last nights Philanthropy Dinner at ZBT Convention (#ZBTDC). Watch this video and get to know B+ Hero Christian. bit.ly/ChristianZBT This is why the B+ Heroes Program exists.
