Last night a colleague introduced me to a blind massage center. Blind massage has a very long tradition in China and other asian countries - in which the visually impaired are trained to make a living as a masseuse. Ive put a lot of miles on my feet these past few days, so I opted for the foot massage. I figured a relaxing massage of my sore achy feet was just what I needed. The masseuse soaked my feet in some very hot water which was steeped with some tea or herbs. After a 15 minute soak, she started on my feet. OH THE PAIN. Is this some form of ancient chinese torture. Not the relaxing foot massage I imagined. OK. I admit, I am a wimp and particularly sensitive to my feet - but DAMN! I grit my teeth and tried to stifle my cries. Though at times I thought of ending the torture early, I endured the 60 minutes. But guess what? My feet feel great today!
