Last night at our local shop I stood beside a well dressed woman in her early 60s who was buying cage eggs. I wanted to tell her she should be ashamed of herself to support an industry where animals had such shockingly miserable lives. All so she could spend a little bit less on her eggs. I wanted to take her by the arm and drag her into the places I have been, I wanted her to see first hand the suffering that has gone into her bloody cheap eggs. I wish people would care more, she was old enough to KNOW what a cage egg is. If people only understood it is consumer power that will change the animal suffering on this cruel planet.
