Last night at the last minute I found out there was a community Messiah sing-in at our church last night here in Tucson. I text Pat at work and said please lets go. He picked us up, Nathans never been to one either and it was so precious and beautiful. The beginning was a warm up of singing Christmas carols~which are my absolute favorite...and I actualy was singing!~kind of loud even because everyone else was too!! It reminded me of singing in choirs back in school it was truly lovely. Ive been so sad and down over the past months, well majority of this year really~just so much going on. I think its been such a regular state of my mood over all that I kind of resolved that things were staying this way and I didnt realize just how down Ive been. So once the orchestra came out, then the singers ~in their tuxedos and gowns to the floor that were just beautiful it just lifted my heart in a way that is hard to describe. Once they started singing, and it was so prefect~just spot on every note...it was just amazing how it filled the whole sanctuary~and then there were all these parts for all of us to get to join...like during my very favorite part, Halleluiah!! I could actually sing all the soprano parts and my voice didnt even crack anymore!(beyond out of practice! ha!!) It was just so precious and like someone had connected my spirit to a big battery charger and gave me a shock! xo Do some of you feel that way ever? What are some things that get you feeling deeply better when you are a bit stuck in a depression, or overwhelmed season in your life? Have you ever felt that way? Is there something that you used to do, that rather you were good at it or not you just really enjoyed it? Dancing or Painting? Cooking maybe or writing? Something maybe unusual that possibly others rarely do or know how to do? Please tell me about it...I left the church last night with a deep satisfied feeling and appreciation for Handels work on that. Did you know it only took him 24 days to write and compose that entire masterpiece? I was thinking about what his walk with Christ must have been like in his personal life to be inspired so deeply to want it to burst off the pages like it does to everyone who hears it. I found this video~listen if you have a couple minutes and see if that doesnt bless you in some way this morning. youtube/watch?v=76RrdwElnTU
