Last night at work I sneezed about 3 am, and the pain nearly dropped me to the floor. This is following a polearm hit last Monday and five spear hits on Thursday that managed to sneak past my breastplate on the left side, just beside my armpit. I decided to walk down to the ER at the end of my shift and get checked out. Ok, X-rays this morning showed no fractures of the ribs, heart and lung fields all normal, but there is deep muscle bruising and maybe some connective tissue damage to the accessory muscles that attach to the ribs. There is deep bruising and swelling, but thankfully no breaks. Itll be about 6-8 weeks before they recommend any serious exertion such as combat. It was pretty awesome, telling them how I got hurt, and seeing the looks of incredulity on their faces. Not the story most hear in an ER.
