Last night began another amazing holy-day/celebration that I LOVE to acknowledge and participate in in my own way. It’s called Navratri and it literally means nine nights. During these nine nights the decent of the Divine Feminine to the Earth plane are celebrated. On these powerful days, the Mother Goddess manifests herself into three major deities, and the three primary Shakti’s who embodie all Divine Feminine powers are invoked. These archetypal beings are Durga (energy), Lakshmi (wealth) and Saraswati (knowledge). The idea behind Navratri is that it’s the time to cleanse the negative characteristics like jealousy, greed, ignorance, anger, hatred, violence, etc. from inside and outside of us. These goddesses are said to descend in their warrior form to awaken the Earth from a deep slumber, destroy evil and assist us in fighting for Love, Light & Joy. The first 3 days honors the archetype Durga also know as Kali. Durga represents the Power/Warrior aspect of the goddess. These first 3 days are about using that “warrior energy” to rid yourself of all negativity in the form of thoughts, disease, & depression. Where could you use a lil house-cleaning in your life? Do you desire to get in shape so you can improve your health? Are you experiencing any negative, old thought or behavior patterns that are no longer serving you? Use this time and this powerful, warrior-ess energy to assist you....clearing the way for Laksmi and Saraswati to shower you with abundance and enlightenment!!
