Last night...by the backyard fire...Ryder and his cousin Ben begged me to tell them a scary story...so after some reluctance I dove right in...no sponge bob in this story boys...I borrowed remnants of thought from stories used to horrify us as children in the past....mainly a man with a hook...used sound effects, long empty stares and eerthang....at 1 am Missy Macielak Wacasey and I thought it was funny as Ryder said with tiny tears in his eyes...dad I dont like dat hook story....at 2 am it was still slightly amusing...at 4 am all amusing characteristics had completely worn off....I have two options.....attempt to squash this powerful residue effect of good story telling or spend the rest of today looking for something that can perfectly emulate the sound of a hook dragging down my hallway...God help me.
