Last night in my dream, I was back working as a biologist with a crew of people. I had another frustrating conversation with a former boss who was completely disconnected from the research project, and the task at hand. After the conversation, the frustration continued to build as all attempts to accomplish tasks failed and my crew was losing confidence in my leadership skills. Intense frustration continued to build as my attempts failed and communication broke down. I had to walk away from the situation. I found myself walking through a dark forest of weeping willows arching over a grassy manicured trail. I walked into an open structure and found several Tibetan monks, sitting in a semi circle, and they began asking me a series of questions concerning my current frustration. Their questions basically asked me to repeat the confrontational conversation I had with my boss to them out loud. As I repeated the conversation they began ask me more questions. Why did you choose that word? Why did you interpret the words of your boss in that manner? As their questions were answered, they all gave suggestions of how the conversation could have been handled without creating misunderstanding (which ultimately created the frustration). At the same time the monks basically reminded me when our emotions are triggered our communications skills break down, which takes us away from logical thinking. This is a human condition, and everyone experiences this at one time or another. After a huge feeling of relief and peace from acceptance, understanding, and praise from the wise monks they told me I now must leave before the competition begins. I found myself in a room full of people wearing clothes from Logans Run, and then the music started. I was familiar with the music but could not quite determine who wrote it, which was the clue for finding the prize in this competition. Then Glenda Atsma came up to me (a childhood friend and we share the same birthday), and whispered in my ear. Philip Glass. As the music was playing, I ran to the only place where I knew was a glass room, and after a series of next clues, I found the prize, which was an intricately carved white egg, in a glass case. Then two announcers showed up to a podium with a microphone, two drag queens, and announced I was the winner. The prize consisted unlimited supplies of expensive makeup, and hair products, along with a full spa day under the Tibetan temple. I kept the spa day, and gave the rest of the prize to Glenda Atsma. Unfortunately I woke up before I as able make my way to the spa.
