Last night, late, due to the number of nights of having uninvited visitors coming to have their late night dinners in our chicken yards, and rabbit houses, I decided to sit up and observe and attempt to dissuade the visitors. Well I parked a truck where the headlights would illuminate the chicken house with the turn of a switch, and I opened two windows on the truck about four inches for ventilation. Early on there were a few mosquitos, but they were largely unnoticed as they could only be detected when they buzzed near the ears. All went well through the night and the visitors did NOT arrive, but this morning I noticed that the mosquitos had continued throughout the night and were not present only at dusk and daylight as normal. However, as daylight arrived in the truck, I did observe a few mosquitos which were so full with my blood that they were on the floorboard as they were too full to fly. There were other mosquitos which were not quite so full of my blood, they could fly, but their bodies had grown so large that they could not fit through the four inch ventilation gap in the windows. Before anyone asks, why I did not use mosquito repellant, the smell of the repellant would have given notice of my location and I really did not want the visitors to know of me before I knew of them. The next time I will use screens on the windows made of quarter inch square wire.
