Last night my mom was admitted into the hospital once again for fluid on the lungs. For fifty nine years she was an avid smoker. She is in the final stages of COPD. Pneumonia will be her constant companion for the rest of her days. So today, I ask you to please say a prayer for those who smoke but still have time. If one person decided to quit or, better yet decided not to start because of her story it would bring meaning to the trials she must endure. As for my mom, she is being treated. She will most likely survive this challenge she faces today. I am proud to say that she has been smoke free for the past two months. Which with a little luck and determination may buy her a few more precious moments.
