Last night, my mother-in-law/mom, Mamie Sue Tate passed away - TopicsExpress

Last night, my mother-in-law/mom, Mamie Sue Tate passed away peacefully after almost a full week of battling pain. I loved that woman so much it hurts. She chose me, even before my husband did...and ever since we have been thick as thieves. Ive cried, laughed, whined and smiled on her shoulder for almost 10years. I lived for being able to make her laugh no matter how irreverent, bad or naughty I was being at the moment. For the past two years, I have been her friend, doctor, nurse, daughter, chef, personal shopper, masseuse, head scratcher (when her granddaughter was unavailable), security, eyes & ears, enforcer, personal assistant and well...anything she wanted. The only thing she wanted from me is for me to continue loving my husband, being/trying to be a mom to Monique Ross (Clauzell Ross) & Damien Tate, fighting all the good mom fights with Sade Drake without giving up on her, a grandmother to the Ross Kids, McClendons in Columbus and the almost 2 Amber ODell-Tates in Phoenix with Harmony & Alee and last but not least true to myself. She once told me years ago that I had more good in my little finger than some folks had in their whole entire bodies. I said, how do you figure, Mom?. She said, because youre smart and kind enough to forgive, forget and overlook mess when it gets thrown at you. Thanks for believing in me, Mom. Its been my pleasure to be your willing servant. I will always take care of and love your most proud accomplishment which is your son and grandchildren. I know you are already rearranging Heaven and telling Him that hes not the boss of you. Youll be doing that with the helpful hands of your brother-in-law, Cleo Wells, husband and father to Pamela Wells and Carl Wells who also passed yesterday. Funny thing is that she crossed over on the EXACT same day we buried her husband and our Dad 1yr ago. Momma, I know youre giggling at the coincidence and I also know you got your very own angel wings last night. You are walking, talking & bossing while playing the piano and directing the heavenly choir up above. Im glad that your daughter, husband, brother, sister, Debo (your fave dog) & my mom were all there to greet you. Rest in peace, mom. As you always said, Love is what love does. I will continue to live up to your standards without sacrificing myself as you asked. I love you, I know you knew it. Goodbye for now.
