Last night our good friend Clifford choked on a piece of meat. - TopicsExpress

Last night our good friend Clifford choked on a piece of meat. The paramedics came and took him to the hospital. Thankfully he is okay now. Last night our sweet friends lost their beloved sheep to an ugly virus. In the past 8 months at least seven people that I know of have passed on from this life to the next, many not realizing their full length of days. I know of people who today are fighting for their health and their very lives. At least three just that I am aware of, are now or have been in the hospital recently. I know of those fighting unemployment. Foreclosure. Heavy, heavy burdens. I am again reminded to be sober-minded, be watchful. Your adversary prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Each and every one of us is fighting some sort of battle. Events war against us, some no more than a minor annoyance, some so intense that you begin to comprehend the reality of just how little control you really have over your own life. No one is exempt from struggles. Absolutely no one. Just for today, think about this. Reflect on what you base your beliefs on. Are they strong enough to carry you through? Because no matter how well you think your life is manageable right now, there will be a time when you start to understand just how illusive this really is. My appeal for you today is to think about how you got to where you are. Maybe you’re in a really good place. Good! Consider that you didn’t get there all by yourself. Someone, along the way helped you get there. Maybe you’re in a really tough spot. Consider that you’re not alone. You’re never alone. Just maybe there is a Someone who really has control of your life. Even when you don’t feel it. Just maybe there is a purpose to your suffering. Even when you don’t understand it. Perhaps there really is Someone out there Whose love for you is so much greater than you can even begin to grasp. No matter what. Even in the midst of pain and despair. Only One can give you peace and assurance. And remind you that none of this is for naught. And remind you that not everything is as it seems. If you begin to grasp anything at all, just for today, my plea for you is that this would be it. May whatever it is that you bank on be able to carry you through whatever you are facing. God is absolutely good. All the time. No question.
