Last night, shortly before 9pm Sharon Police Officers Phil McEnany and Rich Derry responded to the Route 1 South turnaround by Herb Chambers on a reported tractor trailer accident. Upon arrival, it was determined a tractor trailer carrying a 30,000 pound load had failed to negotiate the turnaround and got hung up on the guardrail. Chriss Towing responded with a 75 ton tow truck and after much effort was able to pluck the truck off the guardrail. Officers McEnany and Derry made sure everyone stayed safe during this process by closing one lane of Route 1. The trucks operator was not injured and was from California.
