Last night the Bears Cross Country team traveled to their home course at Kensington Metropark (the toughest course in the area) to take on Charyl Stockwell Prep Academy and Franklin Road. Finishing first for the Bears and 5th overall was Ben Ebaugh, in a time of 21:53. He was followed by Mark Siminski who was 10th overall in a time of 24:20 and Nathan Boze, in a time of 27:46. In the girls side, Megan Heinig and Grace Log both finished their first races ever, finishing 5th and 7th. In the middle school race, finishing first for KWoods was Emily Whittaker, who also beat her best time at the tough Kensington Course, finishing the 2 mile race in 18:47. She was followed by Mackenzie Ford and Riley Nelson, finishing neck and neck at 19:14 and 19:15. Next came Peyton Johnston, finishing her first cross country race ever in a time of 26:44. She was followed closely by Tyler Smith and Theresa Leffert! Also out for their first races were Gage Nelson and Jorgi Sporer! The Bears travel next to the Linden Invite on Saturday. A reminder for all CC runners that there is no practice today.
