Last night the Emmys were awarded, but not all of them. South Mountain’s Xavyer Ziegler has been nominated for a Rocky Mountain region Emmy in the category of “High School Student-Arts and Entertainment/Cultural Affairs.” His video is entitled G.A.S. Out Athletic Promo. The annual awards gala is October 19 at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Ziegler, a senior who has been a student in the South Mountain Communications Magnet for the past three years, is participating in Metro Tech’s Film and Digital Media program this year to further his skills and knowledge in the industry. He is an honors and Advanced Placement student-athlete, Diversity Leadership Youth Council member, and has aspirations of starting a non-profit organization. Ziegler hopes to attend a university specializing in cinematic arts after high school.
