Last night the Mounties opened up conference play against Har-Ber. Ryan had come home Thursday with the news that hit coaches were planning on kicking Field Goals in this game ( they only tried four last year, and Ryan made three ), but that they were going to us a Freshman kicker instead on Ryan on the Field Goals. When the game started, Ryan was doing the opening Kickoff. He not only onside kicked the ball, but he also recovered the Onside kick himself (see video). Although, that gave the Mounties the early momentum, it was lost immediately as Har-Ber dominated the rest of the game on both sides of the ball to win 42-7. The Mounties were only able to muster one touchdown the whole game, and Ryan converted the extra point. As a side note, the Mounties did do two short Field Goals in the game, and the other kicker missed both. I know that Ryan would have made both of these, but hey that’s the way it goes. Ryan did get a nice mention in the Paper for his onside kick and recovery.
