Last night, the President painted a beautiful picture of a sound American economy touting the creation of 800,000 manufacturing jobs, etc. What has been left out from the equation of jobs gained is that more jobs have been lost then gained. On the loss/gain scale, we are running a overall job loss! The ITIF study on the “manufacturing renaissance” which shows manufacturing is still below prerecession levels, there are still 2 million fewer manufacturing jobs, and 15,000 fewer manufacturing establishments then in pre-recession.
