Last night was AWESOME. Nigel (Nige to his friends) came over to watch the one show (which was brilliant, how they can keep producing such informative but fun segments is beyond human thought) . Also we had the n and r (Nige and rob) challenge cup trophy. Each year we battle it out to see who gets to keep the cup (I say cup, its actually a mug with the inscription n and r, written on in black magic market pen), I currently hold the cup after a blistering performance last year. but how is the cup won? I hear you say (I dont), well, we set ourselves ten herculean tasks, after we completed them we total up the scores whoever has the most points wins the cup. We have been setting this years tasks over the last two months. Here are the tasks and results. Oh, I forgot to mention we do get a bit squiggly whilst doing it. After all, is only a bit of fun. 1. Height. We measure how tall we are. Ive won this round 12 years on the trot (since the n and r cup had been established). This year was no different. 1 point to me. 2.speed talking. Who can say spaghetti hoops the quickest. 1 point to Nige (hes a very fast talker) 3. DVD challenge. How many times have we watched lethal weapon 3 this year. 1 point to me (6 times) 4. Impression challenge. Who can sound most like Gary Lineker 1 point to Nige (superb) 5. Blink test. Self explanatory 1 point to me (Nige said it was a controlled performance I was delighted) 6 karaoke. mambo number 5 1 point to Nige (I completely messed up the third chorus, we laughed our heads off (not literally)) 7. Drink test. Three shots of Guinness 1 point to Nige (I nicknamed him the guzzler he didnt mind) 8. Comfortable challenge. Who can sit on the settee and look the most comfortable 1 point to Nige (he went for the hands behind the head pose with both eyes closed, breathtaking) 9. Weather person quiz. Name as many weather persons as possible in 4 minutes 1 point to Nige (7, a new personal best) 10. Strength. How long we can hold each other off the ground for 1 point to Nige (2 minutes 42 seconds) FINAL SCORE!!!! NIGE 7 ME 3 So Nige wins this year, as tradition dictates, I presented Nige with the n and r challenge cup trophy whilst we are the champions is played on the cd player. After getting well PLASTERED (I had 2 Guinness and a bottle of bacardi breezer, Nige drank four whole cans of Guinness) , I walked Nige halfway home, we high five and said goodbye. On the way back I thought about the night and how Nige didnt brag once about winning, hes such a great friend. He didnt wear his new jacket.
