Last night was an absolute success! I just dont have the words to express my gratitude to all the people that came together and helped make it happen. The house was packed and I want to give a special thanks to the Elk Valley Casino staff for all their hard work too. Big Flash Foto set up their photo booth and provided some keepsakes for the event goers. Of course Kyoko and I had to try it out to make sure it was working just right. Tiffany Brown did a great job decorating and all three bands were awesome. Patchy Fog and Drizzle opened the night up and sounded better than ever. Ive really enjoyed watching them develop into the group they are today. My personal favorites were their covers of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Next up was Fire Pony and those kids rocked! I heard some Ramones, Violent Femmes, original tracks and they had the whole crowd singing along when they finished with Hank Jrs Family Tradition. After their set I got some willing participants out of the crowd and played a round of The Not-so-Newlywed Game. We all learned a lot about those folks over the next few moments but Dennis and Gina Putman (30 years married) took the trophy. The headliners and final act was Disturbing the Peace. As expected, they delivered. They was dancin, and singin and movin to the groovin. That dance floor was full and the party didnt end until right around 1am. Last night was a great time and I truly enjoyed being surrounded by great people. Team Apperson came together to provide a wonderful event and the community was more than happy to show up! Thank you all for all you do!
