Last night was an adventure to say the least. Got to Sedona around 4pm under partly cloudy skies, spent some time talking with my friend Larry and his wife, and then Larry and I went to meet up with everyone for the event. Not 2 minutes after we get to the parking lot and get our gear together is starts raining a bit. We went ahead and made the roughly mile hike through to get down to the river with Cathedral Rock in the back ground. There were a few that were anxious to get some pics taken, but for the most part we sat and waited for the skies to part. Sure enough, we get caught in a pretty intense storm with cloud to cloud lightning all over and a steady rain. We took all our gear, those that had it out, put it in our packs and stuck it under trees and bushes to stay dry.....while we all stood/sat out in the rain just talking. Patience is everything with photography and we decided to stick it out as I watch the radar on my phone and sure enough it stopped raining and the colors on Cathedral Rock were amazing. We didnt get the color in the sky that we wanted, never saw the Super Moon, but turned out to be a great night none the less. Going through my pics now and will post some in time. Great to see everyone who made it and/or stuck it out.
