Last night was one of those nights where we had NO trouble finding people on the streets to take blankets from us - some years it seems like we drive around for hours & hours before spotting someone. It can be very frustrating. Yvonne was the best 1st Mate a man could ask for. By the time we got to the Bowery Mission (@ about 1AM) we only had a handful of things left. i had forgotten to buy stuffing & we still needed to find parking. There were also a few gifts left to wrap. Small potatoes against the grand scheme of things. We were in bed by 3:00 - truly lucky that we have a bed, heat, electricity, running water & a roof over our heads. Everything else pales by comparrison. And of course, this morning, as Im still tired, waiting to drive up to my Mas and waiting for Yvonne to come out with the pies, gifts, et al, my @$&/ing phone decides to crap out on me so the next paragraph wont all me to tag anyone further in this post. Ive copied & pasted everything Ive typed previous to this 2 or 3 times, after refreshing - no dice. No spellcheck or autocorrect working, either. Brand new iCrap. Par for the course. So all you wonderful people who helped with the blankets wont be seeing this, most likely. Ah technology! i know Im gonna miss somebody - I apologize in advance - but I just want to thank Joey, Melissa, Johnny, Ed, Angelo, Colleen, Ruben & Frank and anyone else out there, last night for doing whatever they could to help make this the best Christmas, yet.
