Last night we had the privelege to attend a NJ Audubon tribute - TopicsExpress

Last night we had the privelege to attend a NJ Audubon tribute dinner to Pete Dunne. I was vaguely familiar with Petes work at Cape May Bird Observatory but until last night, I didnt really understand the extensiveness of his contribution to birding. The dinner was also attended by birding luminaries such as David Sibley and Kimberly & Kenn Kaufman. I was delighted to realize that there are other humans that cant help, mid -conversation, to glance out the window or look over peoples heads when a bird comes into view on the horizon. I was also encouraged to know what great efforts are being made to involve our younger generation in birding. I encourage all of you to pick up a book by Ken Kaufman or Pete Dunne and read about their passion for birding. Truly inspiring. Inspired today, we biked through Doris Dukes property in Hillsborough NJ. As always, many beautiful sights. The wood ducks were abundant (over 25 ducklings), but - as skittish as ever. Here are are few shots, including an immature male. Happy birding
