Last night went to a retirement party for an old friend, Henry Kohl. Henry and I started training classes together at a new nuclear unit being built, with a name of Three Mile Island Unit 2, back in 1976! After schooling, we participated in the inspection and quality controls of this unit being built. Now, with 43 years of service (Henry started out at the Met Ed coal plant in Reading, Titus), as I started with Met Ed at Portland 41 years ago before coming to Three Mile Island in 76. Our families remained close after all this years, and used to vacation together, when our kids were young, at Long Beach Island NJ. Henry and his wife Chris will enjoy his retirement - she already has a to-do list. Next will be me, officially retiring in April after 41 years with the company!
