Last night, when the Executive Director of the Miss Virginia Pageant nominated me for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, I wasnt too thrilled to be dumped on by a bucket of ice. However, I knew of someone who had ALS, and saw how it drastically changed him and took him from his loving family and fans across the country. So my video is completely different from everyone elses for a reason. While this stunt is going viral all over the world, and its great that the disease is finally getting the attention and, hopefully, the money for researchers to find a cure, I accepted Harlen Gudgers challenge with that as my mission, because I had a little brother die of an incurable disease, as well. While this video wont make you laugh like other videos you have seen, I hope it adds yet another emotion to the cause and yet another reason we need to support it. NOTE: I challenge my fellow Miss VA family members Bootie Chewning, Patrick Moore, and LaVern Cameron (mother of our 2010 Miss America, Caressa) to do the challenge, as well. I hope this poignant video makes a positive impact on the purpose of The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
