Last nights election results are in and we have a new governing majority that has been elected to the Congress and Senate. Since individual emotions about the results of the election vary, a Biblical perspective is in order and we must turn to Gods Word. 1) God establishes authority in our world and in our country. Romans 13:1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 2) God himself dictates the moment and day in which we live. Daniel, 2:21-He (God) changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; God essentially tells us through Romans and Daniel, I am the God who is in control, not man. It is God, who chooses our leaders in authority. It is God, who controls and dictates the time and year in which we live. It is God, who even gives the knowledge & wisdom needed to live holy lives for the Father. Thankfully, in our country, we still have the freedom to make a choice, and last night, our God in Heaven made a choice.
