As you know it is election times so I am sorry for this little bit of spam but this is really important to me..... MALAKA is genuinely one of the loveliest people that I have ever met. She is resilient, awe-inspiring and incredibly sincere and she really really is the best person for the job of Education Officer. _ Malaka has spoken on 37 campuses across the country; she was in France and Italy just a couple of weeks ago to talk about education. As students, we have faced endless cuts, the hiking of fees and a lack of funding for postgraduate study. This is a time where the value of education really needs to be defended by our officers, and Malaka is clearly the best person to be making that case: she has the platform, the voice and the authenticity. _ In all honesty, she is one of the most inspirational people Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. She has WRITTEN a BOOK, had the honour of OPENING A UNION BUILDING alongside our Sheffield MP, helped to free and SAVE THE LIFE of a political prisoner on hunger strike for over 277 days, passionately advocated education around the world and promoted studying at Sheffield and her personal survival in several prominent websites and publications. She is so vastly qualified for the role and I cant even begin to recommend her enough for the role of Education Officer. _ Frankly, alongside all of this, she is the only candidate that faces returning to a WAR-ZONE that is currently being bombed after these elections. I am exceptionally lucky to have met someone with such a spark and fire in their belly and who speaks with so much power about education, life under war and who struggles on behalf of her fellow human beings and I think that myself, and our campus, could honestly benefit from another year with someone as inspirational as she is. _ SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote today and SPREAD the word if you can.
