Last week Cancer Research UK published statistics showing that for all cancers combined, 50% of patients now survive for 10 years or more, compared with 25% forty years ago. These are averaged figures, and it will come as no surprise to PCRF supporters that the survival figures for pancreatic cancer have not changed. But theres some good news. Along with the statistics, CRUK also published their latest 5 year strategy which includes giving priority to the four lowest survival cancers, including pancreatic. We are also working with CRUK and pancreatic cancer researchers with an overall goal of increasing the quality and quantity of pancreatic cancer research across the UK.
