Last week I asked about the first chapter book you ever loved. The array of answers was amazing, and inspires me to go back and read several favorites that I hadnt thought of in a long while. It also made me realize how grateful every author should be for the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books, Little House on the Prairie, and A Wrinkle in Time, since they gave so many dozens of you your initial love of reading. As for the prizes: No fewer than five of you mentioned From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, one of my very favorite books. Brad Wilber was first, so hes the winner there. And I was so delighted to see The Great Brain, which was a series I absolutely adored - Cecile Kohrs Lindell, you win too! Finally, Alice Wright mentioned Doctor Dolittle, another series that enchanted me as a child. And to boot she wrote about her first great librarian! As a library-lover, a sure path to my heart. Thank you all for your thoughtful answers. If you didnt see the post, I highly recommend reading them here! https://facebook/charlesfinchauthor/posts/673398979374917
