Last week I delivered the message, surrendering our will to do Gods will. Today Im sharing the importance of the message. The other day my daughter was in a state of mind when I took her to a mirror and asked her what she saw. Course, her response was that she saw herself. Pointing my finger in the mirror at her image, I told her that she was looking upon her worst enemy. And likewise with each of us!! Isaiah 14:12-15 we read of satans fall, for self care, want, desire and will he fell from Gods grace and these four things stand in defiance of God in each of us. Desire fell upon Eve, care for the things left behind caused Lots wife to give up her safe passage from the destruction that was occurring behind them, it was want that caused Martha to miss a blessing, for it would have been of greater had she joined her sister at the feet of Jesus. So many recitals of what comes to those who fall into these four, seeking own care, want, desire and will. Likewise, we have great examples of those who surrendered the self to seek Gods will. Even today reading about Abraham. Yes, he cared for his son Issac, he wanted him and he desired him to be, but Abraham surrendered his will to do the will of God. It was a test, would he choose Gods will over his own? Yes! He was going to be faithful to the will of God. Remember the first of the two commands Jesus gave, to serve God with our whole heart, soul, mind and strenght. Are we doing it while serving our own cares, wants, desires and will? Will we conquer the enemy we see in that mirror, or fall as satan and a third of the angels?
