Last week, I drove more than 1200 KMS in total from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and back over Dusshera holiday weekend, with sojourns at Surat and Vadodara. While the drive was amazing on the NH 8 and the Vadodara-AHD Expressway, here are a few of my observations... The quality of NH8, which is the lifeline of land transportation connecting Mumbai & New Delhi, improved as I entered the state of Gujarat. No wonder, Surat has been ranked among one of the cleanest cities in India. To drive on Vadodara-AHD Expressway was a superb experience The riverfront park in Ahmedabad is one of the most amazing landscape developed in India and becomes exquisite with its lighting in evening Quality of roads in Gujarat is far superior than in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai - where we drive more in potholes than on roads Though each state has its own +ves & -ves , Gujarat Model of development is clearly evident in the state P.S: This is not a post to compare one state with the other but my own observations based on experiences.
