Last week I had the great opportunity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps in #Uganda with regional events in Mbarara and Kisoro. I met with Global Health Service Partnership volunteers in Mbarara and heard about their challenges in teaching the next generation of #Uganda’s health care workers; I read a book to students at Mutolere Secondary School and answered questions about the United States; and I toured Virunga Engineering works in Kisoro. Each and every day, Peace Corps Volunteers work with their local colleagues to improve Uganda - one child, one home, one school, one village, one farm, and one health center at a time.
