Last week I learned that a local pastor, whose church has lead in baptisms the past three years and continues to grow and make disciples, has been interviewed three times by a Christian newspaper and even had visits from representatives from a state Christian denomination about the secret to the success. Each time he shares that all he is doing is preaching the Word hard each week, presenting the Gospel clearly including repentance and Lordship, calling sin - sin, and they go out door to door witnessing like the Bible tells us to each week. For some reason, no one wants to hear this method. Apparently, it doesnt generate certain book sales, fit in a box, or you cant attach a denominational label to it. My, my, why dont we just do what the Bible says?!?
