Last week, I spoke with a group from the Australian Cartoonists Association in Sydney, and then again this week here in Melbourne. Their association is the oldest of its kind in the world. Thanks go to Lindsay Foyle, Steve Panozzo and Rolf Heimann, three new Aussie friends, for organizing these events so well. My talk was an introduction to Canada through the eyes of our many talented cartoonists back home, and it seemed to be very well received. Lots of laughs, anyway! There is now talk of an exchange of cartoon exhibitions next year – and a possible mutual cartoon convention in Hawaii within three or four years. (Lets include the New Zealanders.) Ill give a full report on all of this to the Canadian cartoonists at our upcoming convention in May in Havana, Cuba. Now, Mary and I are taking a break from all things cartoonish, and are were heading off to Ayers Rock in the centre of this magnificent, friendly (warm) country!
