Last week I visited Torit, Eastern Equatoria State Capital. Drinking water is a challenge, and water borne diseases therefore identified as hazards during a workshop there. I visited the source of the water for consumption, that is a small river near Torit town. While visiting saw, people are collecting the river water and selling in the town (1 bucket=1 SSP), same water was given in Hotel for Washing and cleaning. We use bottled Aquana Companys drinking water, but I ma sure many of the citizen can not afford those. I saw a school girl collecting water from a Tube Well..clean water... Thought much development efforts has been going there, why not we install 1 Tube Well in the open field near all elementary schools, so that students/people can get clean water, even can carry for their family those are in need...
