Last week Tim Harris, a member of TWC, was a panel member at a Fracking round table discussion at Cambridge University. The event was part of a series of Climate Histories Interdisciplinary Seminars. “The Climate Histories Interdisciplinary Seminar is about bringing together and expanding a network of people from different backgrounds (sciences, arts, humanities, and social sciences, as well as people working in policy, media, and industry) to tackle questions about climate and environmental change in the past, present, and future.” Also on the panel with Tim was Dr David Reiner (Senior Lecturer in Technology Policy at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge; ReFINE: Durham Energy Institute; Assistant Director of the ESRC Electricity Policy Research Group) and Natalie Bennett (Leader of the Green Party of England &Wales) It was a real honour to have TWC invited along to speak about, amongst other things, community spear headed direct action as the most effect option open to us in the fight against fracking. If we are to win the fight against fracking we must be actively campaigning within all sections of society. That means everywhere from the Hogwarts like halls of Cambridge academia, to the farmers in your local area and even your mates down the pub. Because only together, can will kill the drill!
